A storage unit that turns into a desk.

My individual Training (2) project: a cabinet and shelving unit with a desktop that swings out on a disk rotation mechanism to become an L-shaped desk.

Furniture that changes

I collected multifunctional furniture: beds that fold, tables that extend, shelves that become desks.

02Idea

Closed it stores, open it works

Closed, it is a cabinet with shelves. Rotate the top and it becomes an L-shaped office desk.

03Design

Drawing and mechanism

I drew the unit in SolidWorks and specified an off-the-shelf disk rotation mechanism (465 × 155 × 20 mm) with its fitting steps. Then I costed every material in a bill of materials.
